Permanent telehealth changes seen from payors such as Cigna and UHC include the removal of the originating site restriction and expanded telehealth code sets. HIPAA compliant platform is required after PHE ends.

House of Representatives passed by a 416-12 vote the Advancing Telehealth Beyond COVID–19 Act of 2021 , which would extend the telehealth flexibilities put in place during the public health emergency until the end of 2024.

As we enter the new year we are seeing numerous payor telehealth policy changes, and therefore we have made several updates to the Virtual Visit Billing Guides for Arkansas, Tennessee, and Mississippi. The federal PHE can only be extended 90 days at a time, and therefore may very well extend past January 20 th , 2021. National Payors.
