Particularly for risk adjustment (RA) reviews, even the slightest gaps in reporting leaves health plans at risk for drops in quality ratings and subsequent revenue loss. Furthermore, the 21 st Century Act opens the door for greater availability to clinical data among patients, providers, and other requesters such as payers.

The NHS “supply shortage” is a result of financial cuts to both social care and public health. This article in the BMJ published earlier this year called for increasing these investments to ensure further erosion of population and public health outcomes, and to prevent further health disparities in the UK.

Among the clearest economic development rationales for digital health is for expanding telehealth in rural America. Wegman was CEO and advocated for the statewide health information network.
