For the 2024 study, Edelman’s team fielded the survey in November 2023, collecting input from over 32,000 people living in 28 countries.

The University of Michigan’s National Poll on Healthy Aging engaged NORC at the University of Chicago to field the study in February and March 2024, conducted among 3,379 U.S. adults between 50 and 101 years of age. The study was conducted online and by phone.

House of Representatives passed by a 416-12 vote the Advancing Telehealth Beyond COVID–19 Act of 2021 , which would extend the telehealth flexibilities put in place during the public health emergency until the end of 2024. Policy and reimbursement consultancy Applied Policy hired Steven Johnson as Health Policy Director.

The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 extended many other telehealth flexibilities through December 31, 2024, including the following: Rather than only in rural areas, Medicare beneficiaries can receive telehealth services in any geographic location in the United States. Medicare Advantage plans may offer additional telehealth benefits.
