I have influenced USA regulations such as HIPAA, and Meaningful Use; as well as regional regulations globally. I am a member of the Wisconsin HIE technical advisory committee, and provide technical advice to the USA national eHealth Exchange. It appears I am going to miss the September HL7 meeting in Baltimore.

Growing EHR Adoption and Meaningful Use. In January, we passed the 210,000 mark for the total number of providers, including nearly 200,000 eligible professionals, who received a Medicaid or Medicare incentive payment for successfully adopting, implementing, or upgrading or meeting meaningful use of EHR technology.

Here goes: the front-loading of the DSRIP program caused dollars to go to PPS sponsors for setting up the program and for checking boxes (literally – “we had a meeting with so-and-so”) to satisfy reporting requirements and subsequent payments. This is likely the paragraph that will get me in the most trouble.
