Here are some specific reflections: FHIR adoption: We missed the mark on our HL7® Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®) growth prediction. It certainly is growing, but FHIR has not picked up the steam we had hoped for in 2023. We reflected on that in our recap of 2023 FHIR DevDays. Sadly, he was wrong.

HIE Future is bright - single connection to hub

Again, I will state that I was not at the WISHIN meeting , so I don't know what they said about this. Very minor mention of FHIR. The next item on the HIE Future is Bright list is movement from "Multiple Point-to-Point Connections" to "Single Connection to Hub". This change is purely administrative, but is still significant.

I am especially excited about the latest standard from HL7 - FHIR. The FHIR standard leverages modern platforms and interaction models. I currently hold a co-chair position in HL7 security workgroup, as well as a leadership position in HL7 FHIR Management Governance. This is my second miss in a row due to not having an employer.
