Over the last two years, the IRS has made some strides in ensuring that certain ACA-mandated processes are as seamless as possible for taxpayers and employers, from streamlining electronic form filings to working toward virtual interactions with the IRS from home. The IRS reported earlier this year that the form rejection rate from the Affordable Care Act Information Return Form (AIR) fell from 4.5% in 2016 to 1% in 2017.

On September 11th, Medtronic issued a notice stating that the company is voluntarily recalling certain lots of infusion sets used with all models of its insulin pumps. The recall covers all lots of Medtronic infusion sets sent to customers before April 2017, except for its infusion sets with luer locks during that time period; this exception was first reported by Diabetes Mine and has been confirmed by Medtronic.

There were three brave soles willing to try IHE-MHD Profile here at the FHIR Connectathon. Diego Kaminker (ALMADOC project / Argentina) Fernando Campos (ALMADOC project / Argentina) Simon Knee (NHS Digital / UK) They did all the hard work. I just answered questions and such. They had a specific goal: They wanted to test the IHE-MHD Profile against general purpose FHIR Servers.

When it comes to driving, a teen with Type 1 diabetes needs to understand they are responsible for being in control of their blood glucose levels behind the wheel; this is the only way to be personally safe and ensure the safety of others on the road. For the past seven years, Juvenile Diabetes No Limits Foundation (JDNL) has been conducting Check B4U Drive – a safe-driving program for teens with Type 1 diabetes, to help get this point across.
