Good Doctor Technology joins NHSO's COVID-19 outpatient care programme

Good Doctor Technology Thailand has participated in the outpatient care programme of the National Health Security Office for mild and asymptomatic COVID-19 patients.

According to a media release, the health tech company is providing telehealth service to patients with positive antigen test results via the Spring Up mobile health app by SCB Tech X, a subsidiary of Siam Commercial Bank Group.

Patients will have access to online medical consultation from GDTT's network of doctors and order prescription medicines from its partner pharmacies.

Under the NHSO's "Meet, Give Away, and Complete" programme, patients with mild and asymptomatic COVID-19 can receive outpatient care directly from any recognised clinic without referrals.

GDTT is also a recognised virtual healthcare provider under the NHSO's Home Isolation programme. Since joining the programme in August last year, it has been providing digital care to patients via its own mobile app.

India Health Link partners with Indian medical supply marketplace Medikabazaar

Digital health startup India Health Link has teamed up with Medikabazaar, one of India's largest B2B medical supply marketplaces.

IHL is known for its self-service health kiosk called Health Pod (hPod), which screens over 20 vital parameters, such as blood pressure, ECG, blood oxygen saturation, pulse rate, and temperature, within five minutes.

Aiming to promote preventive care, IHL partnered with Medikabazaar which has the capability to deliver small and big medical supplies in over 900 PIN codes across India through more than 40 warehouses and its network of offices and delivery ecosystem.

Medikabazaar founder and CEO Vivek Tiwari sees the IHL hPods supporting corporate wellness, which he claims has been compromised by the lack of focus on preventive care. "The hPod developed by IHL is quite promising as it is portable, needs zero paramedic assistance, and its report predicts and suggests medical consultation," he said.

Dr Satyender Goel, IHL founder and CEO, believes their health kiosk can "address the gaps in primary and preventive healthcare delivery and simultaneously fill them, making it feasible, affordable and accessible to all Indians [regardless of] their socio-economic status".

In March, IHL opened an unstaffed digital health centre, which also features the hPod, in the remote district of Khagaria in the state of Bihar.

OPPO sets up digital health grant

The OPPO Research Institute in China has launched its accelerator programme to support startups that are solving humanity's pressing issues.

"With the severity of global issues like ageing populations, poor public health, and [the] digital divide increasing day by day, we could not rely on our own efforts to provide solutions," claimed Levin Liu, VP and head of the OPPO Research Institute.

The institute has initiated its Innovation Accelerator "to empower like-minded innovators to solve these big issues together with us using the power of technology".

Together with its strategic partner Microsoft for Startups, OPPO is calling for proposals in two categories: accessible technology and digital health.

Up to 10 proposals will be granted $46,000 each with further opportunities for investment, technical support, research and commercial partnerships, and global promotion.

A judging committee will evaluate proposals for four key criteria: feasibility, innovation and originality, social value, and long-term potential.

Winners of OPPO's 2022 Innovation Accelerator will be announced three months following the start of online applications on 8 May.
