HIC Joins UK HealthTech Pioneers on ABHI Trade Visit to Texas

Healthcare Innovation Consortium is excited to be among the delegate of UK HealthTech innovators heading to Texas this week, as part of the first trade visit of 2023 organised by the Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI)’s for its new class of ABHI US Accelerator companies.

Healthcare Innovation Consortium joins over 20 of the UK’s leading HealthTech companies heading stateside to strengthen trade ties and showcase the excellence of the UK’s health technology industry.

The week-long visit – exclusive to members of the ABHI US Accelerator – aims to provide participants with access to senior leaders, clinicians and procurement teams from world-class hospital systems across the country, supporting them in engaging the right stakeholders and gaining valuable market insight.

Taking place from 26-31 March, the Texas visit will provide high level connections with ABHI’s extensive network across the state, including health systems, industry bodies, companies and professional services firms. The mission will set the scene for the coming year.

“Healthcare Innovation Consortium is delighted to be among delegates of UK HealthTech pioneers joining the ABHI trade visit to Texas this year. We look forward to meeting clinical leaders face-to-face and connecting with likeminded companies who share our drive and passion about transforming healthcare through digital innovation and combining our efforts to create better outcomes for patients and healthcare professionals alike.”

With a series of innovation partners based stateside, the ABHI US Accelerator is once again working with the Dell Medical School, one of the United States’ most pioneering academic institutions, based at the University of Texas, in Austin. Through such in-market partners, the programme offers nationwide support, drawing on the connections built up across the US.

Texas is renowned as an economic powerhouse. It has the second largest GDP of any US State at 1.7 trillion dollars and were it a sovereign country, would be ranked as the 12th largest economy in the world by GDP.

The cohort of companies will be showcasing a range of UK HealthTech products and solutions as part of the visit. Throughout the week, members will participate in a series of meetings, networking events and introductions across Austin, El Paso and San Antonio.

Meetings will take place with senior leadership from hospital systems – including HCA Healthcare, Tenet Health and Optum – Insurers, distributors, investors and procurement teams. The mission will also incorporate a series of group meetings, networking events, working groups and introductions to a range of supporting organisations such as the El Paso Chamber of Commerce and BioMedSA.

Throughout the year, Healthcare Innovation Consortium joins – will also take part in delegations to other key states, including California, Tennessee, and Florida.

The programme for the 2023 ABHI US Accelerator is sponsored by leading international legal firm DAC Beachcroft (DACB), Healthcare Innovation Consortium (HIC) – a digital health and social care agency committed to advancing innovation in healthcare – and leading legal and business consulting firm, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.
