Ping An Good Doctor, China’s one-stop healthcare ecosystem platform, announced that it will be forming a strategic cooperation with Wyeth Nutrition, a nutrition and health company that is part of the Nestlé Group.

What’s it about

Both parties will utilise their strengths in their respective fields for an all-round cooperation in areas including the new healthcare services, new technology applications, and integration of business and membership systems. They will also bring one-stop nutrition and healthcare solutions and a new "active and healthy lifestyle" concept to the 12 million members of Wyeth Mom Club by jointly building a new "Maternal and Infant + Medical Healthcare" ecosystem.

Ping An Good Doctor will provide Wyeth's premium members 24/7 online consultations with designated one-on-one sessions with private doctors who have an average of over 10 years of professional medical experience. The designated private doctor will also act as a health steward for the mother and newborn baby.

The doctor will use scientific methods to provide daily health management services, such as designated child health records, child health courses, year-round growth and development management and assessment, and medical report interpretation. This new service model will break through the service boundary that hindered links between medical and healthcare management in the past, and will provide a comprehensive, one-stop high-quality medical and healthcare service for both mothers and children.

What’s the trend

Within China, the demand for maternal and infant medical services continues to show strong growth, and some organisations predict that the market size of the maternal and infant medical service industry will exceed RMB300B in the next three years. The number of doctors per 1,000 children is less than 0.6, and most mothers and children are unable to enjoy scientific and effective medical and health management services.

On the record

“The 'Maternal and Infant + Medical Healthcare' ecosystem jointly created by Ping An Good Doctor and Wyeth will provide members with a designated private doctor with rich medical skills and medical resources, and care for the health of the mother and the baby, which can greatly enhance the experience of medical treatment and health management services,” a Ping An Good Doctor spokesperson said in a statement.
