Jonathan Shoemaker has been tapped as ABOUT Healthcare’s newest CEO, succeeding outgoing CEO Angie Franks, effective Sep. 25.

The health tech software company, which designs solutions for hospitals and health systems for complex acute and post-acute referrals, expects Shoemaker’s 25 years of healthcare operations and information systems experience will help drive organizational growth.

Shoemaker previously spent 18 years at Allina Health, a 12-hospital integrated health system through Minnesota and western Wisconsin. There, he served as senior vice president of operations and chief integration officer, chief information officer and chief improvement officer.


Kalderos

Data infrastructure and analytics company Kalderos has appointed Angie Franks as CEO, replacing Brent Dover, who has retired after assuming the position in February 2022. Franks is leaving her position as CEO for ABOUT Healthcare, serving in her former role for six years.

Kalderos makes a drug discount management platform meant to simplify drug discount program compliance using machine learning. It includes product suites  for drug manufacturers and 340B covered entities.

Franks was also CEO of electronic health record vendor Healthland from 2010 to 2013 and chairman of the board of Central Logic from 2015 to 2017 before the company rebranded to ABOUT Healthcare.


Upperline Health

Value-based care provider Upperline Health has named four new executives to its leadership team based in Nashville, Tennessee: CFO Jin Zou, COO Marcus Moreno, President and Chief Medical Officer of Upperline Plus Christiana Beveridge and Chief People Officer Lindy Blevins.

Upperline Health serves 350,000 patients across 134 clinics in seven states, as the company grown year over year more than 300%, according to a press release.

Zou joins Upperline after most recently serving as vice president of finance for U.S. healthcare at Walgreens Boots Alliance, and Moreno joined from Solutran as chief product officer. Beveridge worked as medical director of population health for Oak Street Health, while Blevins has experience at Bed Bath & Beyond and Nordstrom.


> DocGo, a provider of mobile health services, has promoted Lee Bienstock to president and CEO, previously serving as COO, after former CEO Anthony Capone resigned once it was revealed he falsified his academic credentials, among other accusations.

> Abridge, a medical AI company for clinical documentation, has tapped Tina Shah, M.D., as the team’s first chief clinical officer.

> Lifepoint Health has hired Intermountain Health president Jennifer Alderfer as its newest Western Division president, which oversees operations of 18 campuses across 10 states. Intermountain Health is also looking for a new CFO, reports Becker’s Hospital Review

> Frier Levitt, a New York-based law firm with healthcare and law sciences clients, has hired Todd Brower as a partner to represent hospitals and non-profit organizations.

> Wolters Kluwer, a leader in information, software and services for health professional, has named NextGen Healthcare CEO David Sides to its supervisory board.

> CentralReach, a provider of autism and IDD Care software, has launched a scientific advisory board which includes Rick Kubina Jr., Ph.D.; James Partington, Ph.D.; Leo Junquera; Summer Mingo; Starlette Sharp; and Janet Twyman, Ph.D.

> Bone Health Technologies, a company innovating solutions to prevent bone disease, has announced Jeani Delagardelle and Eric Meyer to its board of directors.

> Spatially Health, a cloud-based health equity platform that addresses health equity barriers, has appointed Tom Fluegel, chief operating officer for the National Committee for Quality Assurance, to its advisory board.

> Avera Health, a 37-hospital health system in South Dakota, has named James Dover as president and CEO.

> SimpliFed, a virtual maternal health leader in lactation support, has announced Gajen Sunthara as the company’s newest chief technology officer.

> Oneida Health, a regional integrated healthcare network in New York, has hired Felissa Koernig as president and CEO.

> ECU Health, a health system in North Carolina, has named Brian Harvill as president of Roanoke-Chowan Hospital and Dennis Campbell as president of ECU Health Beaufort Hospital.

> Purpose Life Sciences, a specialty services research partner that innovates clinical trials, has appointed Jeff Kindler, a former Pfizer and McDonald’s executive, and Calum MacRae, M.D., Ph.D., a Harvard professor, to the board of directors.

> Paytient, the creator and leading provider of health payments accounts, has selected David Smith as senior director of strategic partnerships.

> RethinkFirst, a SaaS software and solutions provider in behavioral health, has named Lorelei Skillman as the company’s newest chief marketing officer.

> OM1, a data, AI and technology company that develops networks of health data in specialty areas, has appointed Shawn Bates as chief commercial officer.

> Replimune, a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing oncolytic immunotherapies, has tapped Emily Hill as chief financial officer.

> Seattle Children’s has hired Vittorio Gallo, M.D., as senior vice president and chief scientific officer after recently serving as interim chief academic officer for Children’s National Hospital and interim director of Children’s National Research Institute.

> Cone Health, a health system in North Carolina, has appointed Brian Boies, M.D., as senior vice president and chief academic officer.

> HCA Florida Blake Hospital has tapped Steve Young as its new CEO, previously serving as CEO of HCA Florida Englewood Hospital.

> Nemours Children’s Health, a multistate pediatric health system, has named Matthew Davis as executive vice president, enterprise physician-in-chief and chief scientific officer, effective Nov. 1.

> HHAeXchange, a provider of homecare management solutions for providers, managed care organizations and Medicaid agencies, has named Tim Brewer as chief technology officer.
