One of the GCC’s largest integrated healthcare service providers has partnered with Roche Diagnostics to transform its diagnostic solutions across its hospitals, clinics, and laboratories, it has been announced.

This week, Aster DM Healthcare signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Swiss multinational to transform “Aster’s existing systems into a single platform with the latest state-of-art technology, aimed at providing optimal results to patients and their treating physicians,” it said in a statement.

The agreement will reportedly focus on Aster’s entities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Qatar, and Oman.

“At Aster, we are determined to stay ahead of the curve in offering the best medical solutions to our patients and equip our doctors with the most advanced systems to be able to do so,” said Alisha Moopen, Deputy Managing Director at Aster DM Healthcare. “The partnership with Roche Diagnostics in the Middle East underscores our dedication to supporting countries, patients and medical fraternity across the region through providing the latest healthcare solutions relating to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of various diseases.

Aster DM Healthcare currently runs 27 hospitals and 115 clinics in the GCC and India.

WHY IT MATTERS

According to the company, the partnership not only aims to introduce more efficient systems – such as testing for multiple diseases using minimal samples – but also provide automated laboratory solutions to “deliver high-quality and precise patient results in the shortest time possible.”

Hanie Abdul Sathar, a director at healthcare management services provider, Eurohealth Systems (EHS), also an Aster partner, elaborated: “This project marks the start of a transformation journey that would enhance the service offering of Aster Laboratories across GCC… Through system integration and consolidation we are aiming to develop state-of-art infrastructure for diagnostics founded on intelligent systems, sophisticated quality procedures, instrument technology enhancements.

“[It is] all with the purpose of equipping our doctors with the best systems needed to be able to provide the optimal treatment solution to patients.”
