Telehealth and mail-order health and wellness consumer brands Hims & Hers have been joined by Dr. Pat Carroll. Formerly a chief medical officer at Walgreens and a 20,000-patient primary care group, Carroll take on a similar role for the growing startup.

“Our vision is an ecosystem where people have plenty of options to get the care that’s right for them. Depending on what they need, that might mean working with a company like Hims & Hers to access telehealth providers. Other times, it could mean seeing a primary care doctor in person, or making an appointment with a specialist,” Carroll wrote in a medium.com post announcing his new position. “The important part is that you’ll be able to get the care you need, on your terms. That’s a future I’m excited to help build — because that’s a healthcare system that is truly built to help people, which embodies the Hippocratic Oath I took and strive to fulfill every single day.”

Ailene Bui, a former sales leader at Hinge Health and Fitbit’s Health Solutions team, is joining Lark Health as the company’s head of of employer sales. In this position, Bui will spearhead partnerships with employer customers.

“Lark’s chronic condition management and prevention programs offer an all-in-one, cost-effective tool for large employers,” Julia Hu, cofounder and CEO of Lark Health, said in a statement. “Ailene’s years of experience in the space and her deep knowledge of what tools and solutions connect with employees will be a great asset to Lark as we rapidly expand from over 200 employers to more than double that this year."

23andMe’s chief scientific officer, Dr. Richard Scheller, is leaving his position at the company while signing on to new board positions at biotechs BridgeBio and Maze Therapeutics, STAT reports. Scheller, who came to 23andMe from Genentech, still holds his position on 23andMe’s board.

Podimetrics, maker of a connected device for diabetic foot ulcer detection, has hired Simon Salgado as its new VP of enterprise health services. Salgado previously served in product innovation and sales leadership positions at CVS Health, but will now be leading Podimetrics’ efforts to win over private health plans customers and build new partnerships, among other responsibilities.

“In addition to the terrible human cost and loss of independence for patients, diabetic foot ulcers are a costly health problem that many payers, especially those shifting to value-based care models, are looking for ways to prevent,” Dr. Jon Bloom, Podimetrics cofounder and CEO, said in a statement. “Simon’s years of experience in the private payer space will be a tremendous asset to Podimetrics as we work to bring our solution to more patients.”

GoCheck, maker of the GoCheck Kids app for pediatric vision impairment screening, has tapped Donato J. Tramuto for its board of directors. Tramuto the CEO of Tivity Health and president of non-profit Health eVillages.
