Aledade announces C-suite shakeup, SyncThink's new clinical advisory board and other digital health hires

Aledade, a health tech startup that partners with providers to build primary care-focused ACOs, announced a trio of C-suite personnel changes. Among these is news that cofounder Edwin Miller has left his previous role as chief technology officer to become the company’s chief product officer. Replacing him is athenahealth alumnus Brady Richards, while Dr. Emily Maxson is slated to become the company’s first chief medical officer.

“Aledade’s success would not be possible without the insight and expertise of those in our executive team, who are some of the best minds in primary care, technology and data analytics,” Dr. Farzad Mostashari, cofounder and CEO of Aledade, said in a statement. “Under Edwin, Brady, and Dr. Maxson’s leadership, we will continue to bring our unique, value-based care model to independent physicians and their patients across the country.”

Health kiosk maker higi has tapped consultant Darren Singer take on the new position of group VP of network alliances. Singer will be working to expand the company’s consumer engagement programs for retail pharmacy partners.

SyncThink, a Palo Alto-based startup applying VR and eye-tracking to assess ability to focus as an indicator of concussion damage, announced a new clinical advisory board. The new members include Dr. Jeffrey Kutcher, Dr. Kristen Steenerson, Dr. Leonore Herget, Dr. Marie Boo and Dr. Gordon Matheson.

These new members come from a variety of backgrounds including neurology, sport sciences and even the US Ski and Snowboard team. The board will be focused on providing expert feedback and gathering user feedback.

This morning venture investing fund Flare Capital tapped Parth Desai to join as its new senior associate.

Desai comes to the firm after working with New York Presbyterian’s investment team. Previously he worked for Deloitte Consulting and the Massachusetts House of Representatives. He comes to the role with a Masters of Arts in Clinical Medicine and a Masters of Public Health in Health Management and Policy from Boston University.

In mid-March CherryCircle, a software company focused on accelerating pharmaceutical manufacturing process development, announced that Emma Cartmell will be joining its board.

Cartmell is an angel investor focusing on affordable high impact products. She also serves on several boards including HIMSS North America, Austin Healthcare council and Morgan Stanley Equity Expansion fund.

“CherryCircle’s QbDVision solution is the type of innovation the pharmaceutical industry needs,” Cartmell said in a statement. “I believe in their vision to reduce the amount of time and expense it takes to bring drugs and medical devices to market and this team has the experience to make it happen.”
