Flatiron Health names Nina Chavez as senior advisor; former AAP president joins Cognoa and other digital health hires

Digital therapeutics company Dario Health Corp named Yadin Shemmer and Adam Stern to the board of directors. 

This isn’t Shemmer’s first go-round in digital health. He served as the CEO of medication management platform Mango Health for two years. He also worked at Everyday Health and cofounded Better2Know. 

Stern comes from the world of finance. He is currently the CEO of SternAegis Ventures and head of Private Equity Banking at Aegis Capital Corp.

“We are very pleased to welcome Yadin and Adam to Dario’s board, and look forward to leveraging their dynamic leadership experience in digital health and extensive background in finance as we continue to develop into a leading global digital therapeutics company,” Erez Raphael, CEO of DarioHealth, said in a statement. 


Oncology focused digital health company Flatiron Health named Nina Chavez as a senior advisor. Chavez previously served as the Chief Operating Officer at New Mexico Oncology Hematology Consultants. 

“As the complexity of our community oncology landscape, competitive dynamics, and regulatory environment intensifies, it is increasingly important that Flatiron supports practices to drive financial and operational success beyond our core technology and service offerings,” Carolyn Starrett, SVP of Provider Solutions, said in a statement. “Nina will offer Flatiron’s practices support in the community oncology space by leveraging her 16 years of experience in achieving cancer center business operational excellence.” 

She has experience on the boards of the Association of Community Cancer Centers and the Coalition of Hematology and Oncology Practices.


Dr. Colleen Kraft will be joining AI enabled digital therapeutic Cognoa as the next senior medical director of clinical adoption. Previously she served as the President of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). In her new role she will be focused on integrating Cognoa’s product into a pediatric setting. 

“Cognoa’s products and approach to empowering pediatricians comes at a crucial time in the AAP's pediatric evolution to accomplish proactive care, early intervention, and ongoing collaborative management for those with behavioral health conditions," Kraft said in a statement. “I am excited to join the Cognoa team and contribute to their groundbreaking work that I believe will equip every pediatrician with the tools they need to ensure that diagnosis and early intervention occur. Cognoa is laser-focused on improving the way pediatric healthcare is delivered, starting with the diagnosis and management of children with autism. I'm eager to help achieve a future where digital therapeutics enable optimal, equitable health outcomes for all children.”   


Health tech company Hello Health Group has hired Hugo Saavedra as the company’s next chief commercial officer. In his new role Saavedra will be responsible for strategic partnerships, business development and corporate communication. Before coming to Hello Health Group he worked in sales at Unilever. He also has experience working with Millard Brown Vermeer and Mundipharma Thailand.

Jason Povio will be the next SVP of Operations at Eagle Telemedicine. An engineer by training, he has a history of working with hospital-based operation systems. His resume includes serving as executive director at Acute Medicine and senior advisor in process engineering at Applied Analytics.
