Dr. Mandy Cohen, former Secretary of North Carolina's Department of Health and Human services, is joining health tech company Aledade. She will now serve as the executive vice president and CEO of Aledade's new health service unit. Aledade focuses on teaming up with providers to build tech-enabled accountable care organizations.

Cohen has worked in the public sector for more than 15 years. Her experience includes more than ten years at the federal level working for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS). She served as Secretary of North Carolina's Department of Health and Human services for five years before stepping down from the role in November.

"It is intentional and important that I will be both embedded in the core work of Aledade – making sure Aledade continues to strengthen its support to practices and reach across all payers and populations – as well as building the new care delivery work for the company. One of my initial priorities will be to lead Aledade’s work to support the large and growing number of patients enrolled in Medicaid programs that are served by Aledade practices and health centers," Cohen wrote in a blog announcing her new role.

Chronic care management company Vida Health named Dr. Patrick Carroll is its next chief medical officer. Carroll previously served as CMO at fellow digital health company Hims & Hers. He has also held the CMO role at Walgreens and Integrated Care Partners.

In his new role at Vida Health, he will lead a team of more than 1,000 providers.

“As we double down on the highest cost healthcare problems in America, we’re excited to bring such a respected and experienced medical leader onto our team,” Vida Health Founder and CEO Stephanie Tilenius, said in a statement. “Patrick has a great passion for virtual health and a wealth of experience that [make] him a perfect fit to lead Vida’s clinical teams into this next stage of our growth.”

Virtual care provider Hims & Hers named Uber vet Yemi Okupe as its next chief financial officer. Okupe comes to the company after a two year stint as divisional CFO at Uber. Okupe has experience at a number of tech companies, including PayPal, eBay and Google.

"We're delighted to welcome Yemi to the Hims & Hers family," said Hims & Hers CEO Andrew Dudum. "Yemi's superpower is taking high-growth companies with the potential to transform entire industries and helping them to seize that opportunity, scale rapidly and build a business for the long term. We could not have found a better person to help lead us through this next phase of growth as we continue our efforts to remake the healthcare and wellness industry."

Cyber security software company Intraprise Health has named George Pappas as its next CEO. Before coming to Intraprise Health, Pappas served as chief customer officer and COO at DrFirst, and COO at Motionsoft.

"I’m thrilled to be joining Intraprise Health as it continues its upward growth in the healthcare risk management arena," Pappas said in a statement. "The company’s deep roots in healthcare security services make their integrated risk management software compelling for organizations that struggle with the cost and effort needed to safeguard their operations from cyberattacks.

"I am excited about our wide-reaching security-solutions portfolio and the investment from both HEP and Bluff Point, which will help lay the foundation for continued growth and innovation.”
