Health insurance brokerage and care navigation platform Enhance Health announced that it's partnering with boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. to expand access to health care in low-income communities.

Through the exclusive partnership, Enhance and Mayweather plan to advocate for wellbeing, equality, and accessible and comprehensive healthcare, while leveraging Enhance's resources and Mayweather's brand.

"Everyone deserves the opportunity to live a healthy and fulfilling life. I am proud to partner with Enhance Health to ensure that families from all walks of life can access the healthcare they need to thrive. Together, we can make a difference and bring positive change to communities across the country," Mayweather said in a statement.

THE LARGER TREND

In 2019, Mayweather founded the Floyd Mayweather Jr. Foundation, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization focused on economic growth and development, community health and wellness, and youth education.

Several celebrities have made their way into the healthcare space, including U.S. tennis champion Andy Roddick, who announced a partnership in June with Glen Tullman's Transcarent, a digital platform focused on the self-insured employer market.

Roddick's ViewFi, a tech-enabled virtual orthopedic and rehabilitation platform, partnered with Transcarent to deliver patients virtual orthopedic and musculoskeletal care through Transcarent's Consult Solution.

Fellow tennis champion Serena Williams started her venture fund in 2014, dubbed Serena Ventures, which has invested in connected fitness company Tonal, virtual and in-office healthcare provider Juno Medical, and at-home cervical cancer screening company Teal Health

Williams also backed Lifeforce, a personalized healthcare platform based on a telehealth model that was cofounded by motivational speaker Tony Robbins
