Today, remote clinical trial company Science 37 and diagnostic clinical decision support system maker VisualDx have announced an effort to jointly engage patients and clinicians in their respective networks. The partnership will give VisualDx users access to Science 37’s clinical trial research platform, while those within Science 37’s network will be able to view VisualDx’s skin health medical image library.

“Despite increased availability and improvements in public information and mobile technology, the barriers to accurate diagnosis and access to clinical trials remain too high,” Dr. Art Papier, CEO and cofounder of VisualDx, said in a statement. “Partnering with Science 37 brings incredible resources to our clinicians and patients, including matching patients to clinical trials they can participate in from the comfort of their home.”

Harrowgate, UK-based remote patient monitoring company Inhealthcare has partnered with Sussex, UK-based MSKnote to target obesity, physical inactivity, and aging within the UK. Inhealthcare will be using its platform to connect the MSKassist app’s doctor and physiotherapist users with the National Health Service, specifically within the Coastal West Sussex NHS CCG region where the service will go live this summer.

“I know from my years of experience in treating MSK patients how debilitating these conditions can be,” Cathal Malone, company director at MSKnote, said in a statement. “Giving people the right tools to truly engage them in managing their own health will drive the digital revolution in healthcare. We believe MSKassist will result in fewer follow-up appointments and fewer referrals to musculoskeletal services.”

Chimes, a not-for-profit care and education program for individuals with intellectual or behavioral disabilities, will deploy population health and care management software maker VirtualHealth’s platform across the state of Delaware, according to a statement. Several of VirtualHealth’s offerings — including multi-source data integration, clinical assessments, behavior tracking, and other analytics — will be deployed within Chimes' vocational day programs, and then later bring the same offerings to its residential services.

“Behavior tracking is critical to optimal care management of individuals with intellectual and behavioral challenges. The VirtualHealth platform dramatically improves our ability to streamline workflows and proactively respond to members displaying high-risk behaviors,” Dr. Lois Meszaros, clinical director at Chimes, said in a statement. “Our care managers especially appreciate the customizations provided for Chimes’ unique population and approach to care, and we look forward to expanding our partnership with VirtualHealth over time.”

Cloud-based services and patient-pharmacy connection company Prescribe Wellness has announced a five-year partnership with McKesson Corporation, the companies announced today. The collaboration largely focuses on vaccination, as it will expand access to Prescribe Wellness’ VaccineComplete program and offer Health Mart franchise pharmacies enhanced clinical services and revenue streams.

“Millions of Americans are not properly immunized each year, but the combined scale of PrescribeWellness and Health Mart pharmacies has the ability to change that,” Al Babbington, CEO of PrescribeWellness, said in a statement. “Once limited to filling prescriptions and dispensing drugs, pharmacists are increasingly providing direct care to patients. Armed with the tools they need to go ‘beyond the fill’ to deliver vaccines and other important clinical services, pharmacists make a real difference in the health and well-being of their communities.”
