In a partnership announced this week, IrisVision and Seva Foundation plan to develop new technology to treat vision impairment and prevent blindness in underserved regions of the globe.

Seva has agreed to provide IrisVision with a $200,000 grant to create the technology.

"This partnership with IrisVision will help Seva to continue delivering cutting-edge science and technology in eye health and vision care to the world's underserved communities," said Kate Moynihan, the Seva executive director, in a statement. "One of our key tenets has been to continue investing in technology that advances eye care for affected and at-risk communities, wherever they may be. When we saw the ground-breaking work IrisVision is already doing in low vision aids, virtual vision diagnostics and remote delivery of eye care, we knew they have the scientific, technical and leadership talent to take our work even further."

Maternity focused startups Wildflower Health and Dorsata announced a new partnership to create a new digital platform for Ob-Gyns. The platform will tap Wildflower's patient engagement tools and use Dorsata's technology that helps collect maternity data and provide physicians with resources.

Women's Health Connecticut is slated to be the first health system to use the integrated system. Patients will use Wildflower's tools to fill out intake forms, schedule appointments and access resources. Meanwhile, Dorsata's tools will be used to help give best practice guidelines to doctors.

Iron Bow Technologies and ViiMed have entered into a strategic partnership that will combine Iron Bow’s telehealth services with ViiMed’s workflow-centric virtual care platform.

The companies say they are already underway in the creation of enterprise-class virtual care infrastructure in collaboration with other healthcare organizations.

Select Ortho, which offers DMEPOS programs to practitioners to improve patient care, has selected health startup BuddyCheque’s ConfirmD app to ensure that their employees and customers remain safe during COVID-19.

The app provides individuals a place to capture and share doctor-verified health information and COVID-19 test results.

Wellstar Health System, an integrated health system in Georgia, announced it has partnered with telemedicine technology and services company VeeMed to provide stroke and neurology telehealth services for nine of its hospitals.

VeeMed’s telehealth neurologists will be added to Wellstar’s more than 1,000 physicians and advanced practice professionals to provide primary assessments and decision support.
