I originally was going to become a psychotherapist and start my own private practice, but I worked for Michelle Obama at one point in my career at the University of Chicago. It was a career transition, a mid-life transition. By 40, I decided I wanted to do something that was more altruistic. Despite that, we still had good outcomes.
