More Focus on Equity a Welcome Trend at HIMSS23 – Divurgent
Christopher Kunney, Senior VP of Digital Acceleration at Divurgent had a lot of interesting insights to share about equity in healthcare. As a member of the HIMSS Global Equity Committee, Kunney advocates for diversity, equity, and inclusion in healthcare. The Committee also works to address health issues in underserved communities. Their focus right now is on policies that have a disproportionate effect on underserved communities. Kunney is encouraged by the increased focus on social determinants of health (SDoH) at HIMSS23.
AI is Trending – The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center
Kevin Jones, Director of Enterprise Architecture & Health System Informatics at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center – stopped by the Healthcare IT Today booth to share how much the topic of AI was trending at the annual HIMSS conference. Jones also spoke about IPTV’s (Internet Protocol Televisions – aka TVs in patient rooms that can do more than just serve up entertainment) and the positive impact they can have on patient experience and clinician workflows. Jones also did a full presentation at HIMSS 2023 on “Empowering Patients and Clinicians with Smart Room Technology” which you can watch online.
HIMSS DHTPP Program Means New Benefits for Clients – Divurgent
Sarah Brandt, Vice President of Delivery at Divurgent came by to talk about their involvement with the HIMSS Digital Health Technology Partnership Program (DHTPP). Through that program, Divurgent team members are now certified to use HIMSS tools like the Digital Health Indicator and the EMR Adoption Model to help organizations progress through the HIMSS maturity models and stages. Brandt was very excited about the benefits of that benchmarking through HIMSS will offer their clients.
