Best and Worst Patient Experiences – #HITsm Chat Topic

We’re excited to share the topic and questions for this week’s #HITsm chat happening Friday, 7/23 at Noon ET (9 AM PT). This week’s chat will be hosted by John Lynn (@techguy) on the topic “Best and Worst Patient Experiences.

Many healthcare organizations are starting to put extra effort into the patient experience.  In the past, many organizations didn’t really have to focus on this because they had a monopoly in the services they provided or the demand for their services was so high that the patient experience didn’t matter.  In some areas, this is still the case.  However, as more alternative approaches to care including things like telemedicine have come into view and as patients have gotten more access to information about various healthcare organizations in their area, this has forced healthcare organizations to work more on the experience patients have with them.

What makes for a great experience?  What makes for a poor experience?

In this week’s chat we’re going to dive into the good and bad patient experiences people have had and heard about.  We’ll be inspired by the great experiences people have had in healthcare and we’ll hopefully takeaway some good lessons from the bad experiences.  We’ll also dive into the role of technology on patient experience and how it can help and hurt the experience.

Join us for this week’s #HITsm chat where we’ll discuss the following questions and topics.

Topics for this week’s #HITsm Chat:

T1: What’s the impact of patient experience on healthcare? Good and bad. Macro and Micro thoughts are all welcome. #HITsm
