A digital solution for sleep disorders

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a disorder in which a person stops breathing during the night, perhaps hundreds of times. These gaps in breathing are called apneas. The disorder occurs when tissues in the upper throat collapse at different times during sleep, thereby blocking the passage of air. It most commonly affects middle-aged and older adults and people who are overweight.

According to a recent study, 13% of Indians are under the threat of suffering from OSA. Its is increasingly common disorder, with approx. 6 million adults in India have this but 80% remain undiagnosed and untreated. The prevalence in India is about 24 per cent of men (mostly over 40 years) and nine per cent of women. The diagnosis and management of this condition is rapidly evolving and includes the patient using a CPAP machine to facilitate removal of obstructions to breathing, and surgery

Philips Healthcare will be launching a revolutionary solution (DreamMapper) for managing sleep apnea patients in India. The launch will happen on Nov 18th in Kolkata at NAPCON 2017 and will be broadcasted live here on Philips India Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/PhilipsIndia/ at 1 PM IST.

As a mobile app and online software, DreamMapper helps patients reach goals with sleep apnea therapy. It provides daily progress reports, track goals, provides tips and reminders, and motivates patients to stay on track with the sleep therapy.
