At the 2023 NextGen Healthcare User Group Meeting (#NextGenUGM23), Healthcare IT Today had the opportunity to speak with Sri Velamoor, Chief Growth & Strategy Officer. We wanted to learn more about the company’s AI plans and what the initial reaction has been to their AI-powered ambient clinical voice solution called Ambient Assist.
According to Velamoor, the early response to Ambient Assist has been very positive and exceeded the company’s expectations. Proof of that was very visible at #NextGenUGM23 where there were dozens of quotes from happy clinicians who had used Ambient Assist.
“Getting the SOAP notes into the system via ambient voice is just the first step,” explained Velamoor. “We’re now working to enable orders via voice as well as Spanish language support. Down the road we will be applying AI to coding and to the myriad of specialty forms.”
