Surveys

A survey of 2,600 AHIMA members found that about 80% of healthcare organizations are collecting social determinants of health data. The bad news: Organizations face multiple challenges in collecting, coding, and using SDOH data. These include a lack of standard data formats, limited ability to integrate with EHR systems or share with community-based organizations, and insufficient training on how to code social determinants.

Two-thirds of of healthcare cybersecurity decision makers said senior leadership teams continues to underestimate cyberthreats to their organization, according to a survey from Google subsidiary Mandiant. This is despite the fact that 40% of healthcare cybersecurity professionals said their organizations experienced a significant cyberattack within the last 12 months.
