One of the people who’s had a front row seat to some of the major happenings in health IT is Zane Burke. Most of us got to know Burke during his two decades at Cerner Corporation (now Oracle Cerner) where he eventually became President. Then, Burke was CEO of Livongo Health before it was eventually acquired by Teladoc. Burke is now CEO at Quantum Health. Given everything that has happened with Cerner and Teladoc since his departure, we wanted to get his insights and perspectives on what’s happening with those two companies and also why he chose to work on Care Navigation at Quantum Health as his next act.
In the video interview below, we ask Burke what’s driving care navigation to become increasingly important and what he sees happening with the space in the future. We ask him to share how Quantum Health is approaching the problem and how they can help organizations with care navigation. Plus, we ask Burke how inflation is affection healthcare.
We also dive into a number of other complexities that are plaguing healthcare. Burke also shares his experience with virtual care and how virtual care and telehealth have kind of fallen off a cliff. He shares what he thinks virtual care will look like in the future and what care works virtually and what doesn’t. Finally, we ask him what he thinks of Oracle’s acquisition of Cerner and what the new Oracle Cerner will look like. Burke shares some interesting perspectives on what Cerner customers may experience post merger.
