HFMA Edition – What’s Something More People Should be Talking About in Healthcare?

There are so many things to talk about in healthcare – both in terms of new technology and ideas as well as problems that we need to fix – but there is so little time to do so. We can’t talk about healthcare 24/7, the best we can do is pick the most important things for today and leave the rest for the future. But how do we decide which ones are the most important topics that need our attention now?

At the HFMA Annual conference we talked with our amazing Healthcare IT Today Community for their insights on what more people need to be focused on in healthcare right now. All of their answers have been compiled in the video down below. Check it out and see if what you think matches up with anyone else’s thoughts!

Here’s a quick look at what everyone is saying in the video:

Nate Kelly, President at ChartSwap – We’ve digitized a lot of things, but we haven’t had a full digital transformation. So how do we take all of these digital solutions and put them to practical use?

Kishau Rogers, CEO at Time Study – How well do our decisions lead to the empowerment of the workforce and the health of our patients?

Amanda Devlin, VP of Enterprise at Future Family – Third-party financing to help people move forward with healthcare.

Hal Walsh, Vice President Channel Partnerships at Streamline Health – Quality within the middle of the revenue cycle.

Laxmi Patel, Chief Strategy Officer at Savista – Social determinates of health from a financial standpoint.

Seth Cohen, President at Cedar – The Medicaid disenrollment trends and creating clearer connections to financial assistance programs.

Keith Olenik, Chief Health Information Officer at AHIMA – Data integrity.

Rick Stevens, CTO at Vispa – Automating with things like APIs instead of bots.

Valerie Mondelli, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at RevSpring – Empathy in the patient experience and what that really means.
