One of the big challenges ambulatory practices face today is how to navigate the increasingly complicated world of population including things like HEDIS scores. The good news is that the opportunity to do population health is now there thanks to all of the data that’s available to a healthcare clinic in their EHR. However, it takes more than just a report to do population health effectively and to ensure they’re closing the gaps in care.
A few years ago. eClinicalWorks introduced a data analysis tool called HEDIS Analytics that brings to the surface gaps in care among a clinical practice’s population. For instance, one month they may look across all their patients with diabetes to see which ones are due for an eye exam. HEDIS can create a simple dashboard quickly that lets them know which patients to contact.
