Your Opportunity

We are hiring a Lead Healthcare Data Architect who will own the enterprise wide representation, normalization, accuracy, and governance of a wide of variety of healthcare data, including claims, demographic, clinical, ADT, diagnostics, etc. You will work across our ecosystem, ensuring consistency or representation and accuracy of data dictionaries. You will bring your extensive experience ingesting and managing healthcare data at scale to support our analytics, automation, and machine learning teams. You will be a thought partner with business stakeholders, understanding company goals and ROI, and collaborating on strategies and approaches.

What You Will Do

  • Design, implement, and optimize the schemas and data dictionaries across a broad ecosystem of platforms and vendors
  • Manage the data lifecycle for all source, derived, and exported data ensuring accuracy and consistency
  • Manage the systems that clean, normalize, and translate various data flows in HL7, FHIR, and other common healthcare formats
  • Create and maintain the domain model artifacts that communicate the data structures to stakeholders
  • Develop and implement data governance and quality control processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the company’s data
  • Create data monitoring strategies for each platform
  • Create and implement a data quality strategy and automation
  • Develop database design and architecture documentation for the management and executive teams
  • Translate business requirements into data streams, databases, data warehouses, and other information products
  • Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating client operations, applications, and programming
  • Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting and integrating new features
  • Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems
  • Educate staff members through training and individual support
  • Lead the data governance processes
  • Maintain PHI, HIPAA, SOC2, and HITRUST compliance

Required Qualifications

  • The candidate must have at least a Bachelor’s degree and ten (10) years of experience in healthcare data design, implementation, and optimization or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated experience with HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC-2, and healthcare PHI required
  • At least 5 years experience with data governance of a substantial healthcare data set
  • Experience with Healthcare data structures (EHR/EMR or claims), including normalization, deduplication, identity reconciliation, MDM/MPI
  • Experience with Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Accountable Care Organizations, and Value Based Arrangements preferred
  • Proven fluency in SQL and a development language such as Python
  • Strong knowledge of database structure systems and data mining
  • Must be able to develop creative solutions to problems
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines and Data Warehousing design, tooling, and support
  • Understanding of different data formatting (JSON, CSV, XML) and data storage techniques (3NF, EAV Model, Star Schema, Data Lake)
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
