Surveys
A survey of 2,600 AHIMA members found that about 80% of healthcare organizations are collecting social determinants of health data. The bad news: Organizations face multiple challenges in collecting, coding, and using SDOH data. These include a lack of standard data formats, limited ability to integrate with EHR systems or share with community-based organizations, and insufficient training on how to code social determinants.
Two-thirds of of healthcare cybersecurity decision makers said senior leadership teams continues to underestimate cyberthreats to their organization, according to a survey from Google subsidiary Mandiant. This is despite the fact that 40% of healthcare cybersecurity professionals said their organizations experienced a significant cyberattack within the last 12 months.

- Lark Health and Smart Meter are integrating their respective diabetes management program and transmitting glucose readings immediately through the cloud to their RPM solution and then to providers. There is no synching, pairing, or Wi-Fi required.
- Patient engagement vendor Equiva Health is collaborating with Infiniti Mobile to help healthcare organizations enroll patients in the Affordable Connectivity Program.
- Workplace health vendor HealthCues is adding Stayhealthy’s wellness apps to its platform.

- Hybrid chronic care provider Enabled Healthcare began enrolling patients in Washington state.
- Conversational language analytics vendor Authenticx released an autoscoring tool for evaluating consumer interactions.
- Collaboration software vendor Skyscape launched Buzz, a communication platform focused on case management.
- Experian Health launched AI Advantage to help providers mitigate the volume of healthcare insurance claims denials.
- Support service organization CancerCare released an Employer Toolkit on Biomarker Testing to help organizations make informed benefits coverage decisions.
