They also all recognized that those that have succeeded have reaped great rewards.

CMS Increases Telemedicine Reimbursement

At the start of November 2017, the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) passed their final rules for the 2018 Quality Payment Program (QPP) and Physician Fee Schedule (PFS). Part of the update addresses the realities of natural disasters and other unavoidable circumstances.

This was really important for me, as it was the first ‘public outing’ of a seminar format that I’d like to see could be repeated wherever Clinicians are getting their first taste of FHIR, and showing how they can participate more fully in FHIR based Interoperability projects.

The IRS Releases Sample of Letter 226J

As we reported this week, the IRS has issued guidance on its plans to issue penalty notices by the end of this year to Applicable Large Employers (ALEs) it believes were not in compliance with the requirements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). That guidance was made as an update to questions 52 – 58 in the IRS’s Questions and Answers on Employer Shared Responsibility Provisions Under the Affordable Care Act.
