Latest IT Security Vulnerabilities: Apache, Google, and Apple

This week has been a busy one for IT professionals. Apache announced that they had discovered and fixed a significant vulnerability in their software. At the same time, Google revealed that it had patched flaws in the Chrome browser, and Apple issued updates to fix vulnerabilities in macOS Big Sur.

Google has confirmed the latest security update for Chrome's 2.6 billion users incorporating an emergency fix for a zero-day vulnerability that attackers are already exploiting.

Apple is rolling out macOS Big Sur 11.6.2 to users, as well as a macOS Catalina update with security fixes.

According to the company on its official website, macOS Big Sur 11.6.2 fixes a security breach that could let malicious apps bypass the Gatekeeper check – which is macOS’ security system for preventing hostile or unidentified apps from running.
