Study finds tech issues with ONC-certified EHRs that could cause patient harm

Electronic health records products that have been certified by a federal agency may be causing issues that could lead to patient harm, according to a new analysis published in JAMA. One example of a safety issue identified in the analysis—the EHR deleted a decimal point from a drug dosage entry, so instead of 2.5 milligrams it was changed to 25 milligrams.
