Happy Juneteenth!

Today I’ve come across a wide variety of people in health IT that’s companies have given them the day off to celebrate Juneteenth.  It’s been interesting to see a lot more people embracing this holiday and taking time to understand some of it’s history and origins.  Plus, we’ll see how its meaning continues to evolve like happens to most holidays.

I did see this image which seemed to capture how I feel about this day and what I feel like we could all benefit from in this world.

In healthcare, the best solutions I’ve seen are usually when people come together.  In fact, it’s often when people with a diverse set of backgrounds and experiences come together to work on a challenging problem (Are there any easy problems in healthcare?  Can you do anything alone?).  I’m going to take today to slow things down and think about ways I can come together with people I don’t usually spend time with.  I hope you have a great day.
