Evaluating vendors in healthcare is a highly strategic task, and can make the difference between systems that work as advertised, and those that create additional work. The vendor selection process has always been a difficult one, and a prime example is in the struggles we’ve encountered over the years with Electronic Medical Records (EHR).
Many assume that the major names in a niche market have the best service offerings, but that’s not always the case. In many situations, we’ve come to find out later that deeper marketing pockets do not equate to better usability and customer satisfaction.
By not gathering the right requirements, not checking references, customer experience scores or calling clients to see if they would purchase the product again, people go down a path that is sure to fail. Join us this week, as we explore the definition of vendor performance and why getting the evaluation process right is so important to prevent a “rip and replace” methodology.
