The Personal Connected Health Alliance’s Digital Health Pavilion at HIMSS18 will once again feature “The Connected Health Experience,” a series of presentations and demonstrations of the latest connected health innovations. But this year the range of subjects will be even wider.

“There’s some similarities and some differences from last year,” said John Sharp, senior manager at PCHA. “As before, we’re going to be having mobile apps and remote monitoring devices and sensors, but then also have some companies exhibiting about artificial intelligence and virtual reality as well.”

In addition to a range of vendors, such as Zipnosis, Carbon Health, and Nokia Digital Health, the sessions will include some non-sponsor expert presentations, including a Blue Button API presentation from the HHS Innovation Center.

Sharp said he’s looking at a handful of major areas as potential connected device trends for the coming year, which will be amply represented at the Pavilion.

“One is the broader use of AI in healthcare, in connected health, and a related one is voice-enabled devices or apps specific to voice-enabled technologies like Alexa and Google Home,” Sharp said. “I think there’s going to be a lot more of that that’s going to be available. I think there will also be some updates on remote monitoring and telehealth as more technologies are available and they’re being more broadly adopted.”

Other speakers will include representatives from Connexient, Rivet Logic, Get Real Health, and mPulse Mobile.

In addition to back-to-back 20-minute presentations that run through the morning and afternoon Tuesday March 6th and Wednesday March 7th, companies will also be on hand at booths in the Pavilion to network and connect with attendees.

Sessions in the Connected Health Experience are scheduled for Tuesday, March 6th 11 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. and Wednesday, March 7th 10:30 a.m to 2:30 p.m in the Venetian, Bellini Booth 8700.
