Miedeval Cyberattacks, Startup Business Models, and Conference Attendance – Fun Friday

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope you had an amazing week and aren’t freezing as we head past fall towards Winter.  October has flown by for me and I expect November to be just as fast.  Although, I’m visiting Utah lately and I’m not sure about this freezing Winter weather.  I guess that’s why I live in Vegas.  Enough about the weather, let’s get to another edition of Fun Friday where we try to bring some joy into your life as we head into the weekend.

This is a great cartoon. When I read books that include a history of battles, I often think about how much has changed. I’m sure our grandkids will do the same with us and things like cyberattacks. Will be fun to watch. Although, in the meantime, cyber threats are the biggest threat to a CIO and CISOs sleep health.

It really is amazing how many people misunderstand payers and their business model. What seems logical when you focus on the patient definitely gets turned upside down when you talk to payers.

It kind of feels this way. With HLTH announcing 9500+ attendees and 850+ sponsors the conference has really grown. Although, if you look at my Fall health IT conference article, I’m skeptical of how many are actually from provider organizations (ie. customers). Those going into HLTH looking for customers are likely going to go away disappointed. Those going into it looking for funding and partnerships will have a better chance. Those wanting to know how incumbent healthcare organizations are being attacked by startups, investors, retail health, and big tech companies will go away with a lot of knowledge. That’s what I expect from HLTH, but we’ll see soon. I look forward to hearing people’s experience.  One thing that’s certain is that it’s going to look great on social.

That’s all for this week. Enjoy your weekend!
