Insights and Perspectives from the DirectTrust and Civitas Conference

A few weeks back, we shared that we were going to attend what we termed the Woodstock of Healthcare Interoperability which was the annual conference hosted by DirectTrust and Civitas.  The good news is that the conference did not disappoint when it came to connecting and learning from the best and brightest healthcare interoperability experts in the industry.  In case you missed it, you can see some of our previous coverage:

We also did a number of short videos with experts at the event.  Here’s a look at some of the insights they shared.

First up is Erica Galvez, CEO at Manifest MedEx talking about their work to address health equity and the challenge of getting the right data.

One of the big announcements at the event was Civitas selecting Velatura as the technology solution partners for the patient centered data home initiative. Check out the video interview to learn more.

Next up is George Gooch, CEO of Texas Health Services Authority, who shared a couple unique projects they’re working on with Audacious Inquiry, a PointClickCare company. Check out the video to learn more about PULSE for disaster response and SANER for healthcare system capacity.

At the Secure Exchange Solutions booth I was lucky to talk with Angie Bass from Velatura who was recently nominated to the Civitas Board and the important HITAC committee.  We ask her about that nomination and her thoughts on what she heard and experienced at the conference.

Finally, Therasa Bell from Kno2 shares that the stakes are extremely high when health data isn’t shared reliably and how they addressed part of this challenge with their partner, Consensus Cloud Solutions.
