The very idea of collapsing four of the five dominant national health care insurance companies into two was therefore a nonstarter. Health insurance, pharmacy and urgent care all under one roof. Meanwhile, many traditional primary care providers are running scared. There are, of course, other approaches available, such as direct primary care. This will have implications for patient choice of provider, and possibly for total cost of care as well.
