Real-Time Clinical Note Generation from Mutuo Health Solutions

Mutuo Health Solutions serves the Canadian market with automated clinical note generation (ambient clinical voice as it is often called), and plans to enter the U.S. market or international markets are in the works. In this video, co-founder and CEO Noah Crampton, MD, describes the company’s service and its success so far.

Mutuo has enhanced the standard natural language processing to make it more accurate, such as by integrating clinical knowledge tuned to the 33 medical disciplines they currently support.

The system takes input from a microphone in the room or from a mobile device and generates output within about 30 seconds, so that the doctor can review and add to it. The system also generates real-time recommendations, and produces both a note and a report for the patient to take home quickly at the end of the session.

Mutuo is concerned with privacy, consent, and data governance, and integrates the consent process into the user experience.

Watch the video for more details about Mutuo’s integration with various EHRs, its human scribe service, its feedback and quality process, and its plans to grow beyond the Canadian market.  Be sure to check out other ambient clinical voice interviews we did with: Nuance’s Copilot (Previously DAX Express)Ambience HealthcareNabla, Suki, Augmedix, Oracle Health, OnPoint Healthcare Partners, and AWS HealthScribe with 3M.
