In advance the November 15 beginning open under the Act, government technology are beefing up to avoid a repetition last year’s glitches.

“We’re really making sure that website works super well,” President Obama said at a news conference. “We’re double- and triple-checking it.”

Behind the scenes, the website is being equipped with “virtual rooms” that will be triggered if the system detects that more users are trying to access the system than it can handle.

Those shopping for will find the process much simpler than last year. The application form includes 16 computer screens information to fill out, compared to 76 screens in the original version.

On the other hand, will have to deal with two categories users this year:  new applicants and those who want to renew or change their existing. Last year, all applicants were new to the system.

The will be much shorter than in 2013. It is scheduled to run from Nov. 15 to Feb. 15, 2015. The first year started October 1, 2013 and continued to March 1, 2014. Those wanted their to begin in January must sign up by Dec. 15.
