What's The Fix Conference - May 17, 2018Our Society for Participatory Medicine’s presence and impact in the world is escalating this year, thanks to many factors. A big one is the addition of activist board members like Burt Rosen of member company HealthSparq, and another is that our time has come. A big sign of that is the opening of Dell Medical School in Austin, which will be the host next month of HealthSparq’s second annual “What’s The Fix??” conference. For the first time, SPM will be the creator and host of a hands-on May 16 pre-conference workshop, Finding The Fix: Strategies to empower patients and strengthen health care! It’s FREE, both in-person and virtual – but you need to register here on EventBrite.  Hashtag is #WTFix

Here’s the session description:

3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. CT:
Finding a fix: Strategies to empower patients and strengthen health care

This workshop will, fittingly, be led by a collaborative patient, doctor and nurse team: “e-Patient Dave” deBronkart, Dr. Danny Sands and Marge Benham-Hutchins. It explores how activated and empowered patients can engage as responsible drivers of their health, and how providers can encourage and collaborate with them as full partners in their health and care.

Core Focus: You’ll learn about the Participatory Medicine model of health care and gain tools and tactics that can be employed by both patients and providers to support a collaborative relationship and therefore improve health outcomes and satisfaction.
