Dr. Bimal Shah and Courtnee Westendorf have been announced as the chief medical officer and chief marketing officer, respectively, of Livongo Health. Shah was promoted internally from a position of SVP of clinical strategy, while Westendorf previously served as the chief marketing officer of the Oakland Raiders football team.

“We are excited to have a leading marketing executive like Courtnee join Livongo given her background building and expanding some of the world’s iconic brands,” Glen Tullman, executive chairman of Livongo, said in a statement. “With the addition of Courtnee and promotion of Dr. Shah as our new Chief Medical Officer, Livongo continues to expand our leadership capacity and strength to meet the rapidly growing market demand for our Applied Health Signals solutions.”

Yesterday Outcome Health appointed John Vaughan as its new chief compliance officer, a new role that the company said speaks to its “ongoing commitment to increase transparency and bring more rigor to its data measurement and reporting.” Vaughan, who comes from a similar role at Danaher Dental Platform, will be working to develop, implement and oversee compliance policies within the scandal-ridden company.

“We have made great strides to define new industry standards for point of care,” Matt McNally, CEO of Outcome Health, said in a statement. “We have invested in third-party independent auditing of all our content by Business Publications Audit (BPA), and we are engaged in a collaboration with Nielsen to better understand our audience. These relationships ensure we maintain the highest standards of measurement and performance with every stakeholder, raising the bar for the entire industry. John’s deep healthcare knowledge, and experience working for some of the largest pharmaceutical companies made him the ideal candidate to help take Outcome Health into the future.”

Tech-minded insurance company Oscar Health has scooped up Angela Calman, IBM Watson Health’s VP of global corporate communications, according to a press release. Calman stepped into her new role earlier this month, and has been tasked with oversight of Oscar’s corporate communications.

Prior to IBM, Calman also held positions at 23andMe, Intuitive Surgical and The Cleveland Clinic.

“We are thrilled to have Angela join Oscar to lead our strong communications team. Her deep understanding of the complex health care industry coupled with an impressive history working with some of the biggest names in health tech will be a great asset to Oscar,” Joel Klein, chief policy and strategy officer at Oscar, said in a statement.

California-based telehealth company Forefront Telecare recently named Rob Rebak as its next CEO. Before joining the Forefront team he was the CEO of fellow behavioral telehealth platform AbleTo. He also has executive experience after serving as the CEO and chairman at QualityHealth.

"We are delighted to welcome Rob Rebak to lead our company into the next stage of growth," Merritt Widen and Phil Knudsen, cofounders of Forefront, said in a statement. "We couldn't be more proud of our entire team and angel investors who helped us navigate the pioneering stages of the telehealth industry. We appreciate the services of Ziegler corporate finance and the commitment from Spring Lake and the Ziegler Link Age Fund to help us take advantage of the tremendous opportunity that lies before us.”

Kate Black, 23andMe’s global privacy officer, has departed the company for a new position at law firm Greenberg Traurig, where her practice will focus on data privacy in consumer technology, digital health and genetics, according to a press release.

“I can’t speak more highly of the 23andMe team and my time there. I am proud of the work we did to build and oversee an industry-leading privacy program at the world’s largest consumer genetic testing company. My experience was invaluable in understanding emerging technologies, growth, strategic development, and legal compliance challenges in a fast-paced start up,” Black said in a statement. “Now, I’m excited to apply my experience more broadly to other companies across the health and consumer technology sector facing similar challenges. Greenberg Traurig provides a unique, global platform to work with a wide range of companies facing the complex legal issues in privacy and data management today.”

Following a strategic investment, EchoCare Technologies has appointed Tigbur Group CEO Orit Benvenisti to its board of directors. According to the company, Benvenisti’s appointment comes “at a critical time as the company moves forward with the investment to manufacture and commercialize the product in the global market.”
