Peerfit's new chief strategy officer and other digital health hires

Peerfit, a digital platform for fitness benefits, announced recently the appointment of Jason Parry as the company’s chief strategy officer. Parry has more than two decades of experience as an entrepreneur, analyst, consultant, and executive, and most recently held a role at GuideWell/Florida Blue. 

“I’ve worked with companies to develop customer-focused strategies to grow and thrive throughout my career,” Parry said in a statement. “I’m excited to leverage my knowledge and background as an entrepreneur, executive, and investor to help Peerfit redefine wellness in the workplace.”

ORHub, a provider of surgical software focused specifically on data analytics for cost effectiveness, has brought on Blake Stock as its manager of analytics. Previously, Stock held the position of perioperative services business manager at the University of San Diego Medical Center, where he modernized the center’s surgical scheduling, surgery block management, budget processes, lean process improvement, and cost savings initiatives since 2012.

“We are extremely pleased to add Blake as the Manager of Analytics who will contribute unique [EHR] insight from a healthcare operations perspective on how to innovate data analytics to solve complex institutional challenges,” Colt Melby, CEO of ORHub, said in a statement. “With his experience in developing enterprise-wide analytics solutions across the operating room, anesthesia, and radiology departments, we look forward to Blake’s role in driving penetration into new hospitals and developing next generation modules as we continue to transform the business of surgery.”

Healthcare analytics and services company Geneia announced that it has appointed Dr. Aurel O. Iuga as its chief medical officer. Iuga is board-certified in clinical informatics, preventive medicine, and public health. Most recently he held a position at Anthem as medical director and clinical solutions manager for its clinical modeling group.

"It's an exciting time to join Geneia," Iuga said in a statement. "As we move from predictive to prescriptive analytics, our health plan, provider and employer clients are increasingly able to do true population and personalized health.”

Healthcare communications group Spok has announced the formation of its Physician Advisory Council and Nurse Advisory Council, both of which are intended to provide expert guidance for the company’s Care Connect platform. Chairing the physician and nurse groups will be Chief Medical Officer Dr. Andrew Mellin and Chief Nursing Officer Dr. Nat’e Guyton. Members of the councils represent a number of organizations, including Duke Health, Emory Healthcare, Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin, Peninsula Regional Medical Center, UW Health, Vail Health, and Virginia Commonwealth University Health.

“Our focus is bringing to market the most innovative clinical communication and collaboration platform to improve patient outcomes and care team satisfaction,” Hemant Goel, president of Spok, said in a statement. “The expertise of physician and nurse executives and other clinical leaders helps us understand key challenges and prioritize enhancements to advance our solutions.”

Marc Galletti, managing director of Longitude Capital, has been appointed to the Murj Board of Directors following participation in a funding round. Similarly, Greylock Partners’ James Slavet will be joining Solv’s Board of Directors in light of a recent investment, while SJF Ventures Managing Director Cody Nystrom will receive a seat at mPulse Mobile’s board to monitor her firm’s vested interests.
