Fitbit names new CFO, RxRevu taps former Cleveland Clinic CEO for board position, and other digital health hires and departures

Earlier this month Fitbit announced that Bill Zerella will be stepping down as chief financial officer. The wearable giant has tapped Ronald Kisling, who was perviously serving as the chief accounting officer, to fill the role. Kisling comes to position with 35 years of experience in financial leadership. 

“Ron has long been an important member of our senior leadership team and we will continue to benefit from his significant expertise in leading sophisticated finance organizations as we position Fitbit for its next stage of growth,” James Park, Fitbit CEO, said in a statement. “We remain confident in the long-term future of Fitbit and look forward to partnering with Ron as we execute on our plan.”

Denver-based health IT startup RxRevu has just announced that Dr. Toby Cosgrove will be joining its board. Cosgrove spent over a decade as the president and CEO of Cleveland Clinic. He announced he would be leaving that posting in 2017. 

"Our goal is to equip every provider with a tool that guarantees the right medication is prescribed to the right patient at the right cost. Dr. Cosgrove is a visionary clinical leader and his unique perspective will help us to better collaborate and partner with health systems," Carm Huntress, cofounder and CEO of RxRevu, said in a statement. 

Starting early this summer digital health media company Outcome Health will be led by Matt McNally, MedCityNews reports. McNally is currently the president and chief media officer of healthcare advertising company Publicis Health. The news comes after former CEO Rishi Shah and president Shradha Agarwal stepped down following a lawsuit from the companies former investors.

New York-based telehealth company Tyto Care has announced a slew of new vice president appointments. Among the new appointees are Menahem Shikhman, who will take over as vice president of business partnerships; Anu Nadkarni, who will serve as vice president of payer solutions; and David Bardan as vice president of provider solutions. 

“We are excited to welcome both Menahem and Anu to the Tyto Care team, and to usher David into a new role. Their experience and insight will help drive the company forward as we expand further within the US market and focus on key opportunities with health providers and payers,” Dedi Gilad, CEO of Tyto Care, said in a statement. “Their valuable knowledge will strengthen Tyto Care’s position as a leading telehealth innovator, making primary care accessible and convenient for a diverse and growing patient population.”

The product was cleared by the FDA in 2017 and subsequently launched the same year. The company plans to expand its services and focus on healthcare systems and provider groups.  

Clinical trial platform TrialScope has tapped Francine Lane for the vice president of global transparence role. The position is brand new, and will put her in charge of overseeing and managing complex global disclosure requirements. 

"We are starting to see increased pressure, both legal and ethical, to disclose results from regulatory bodies and activist groups,” Lane said in a statement. "I am thrilled to take on this unique role, helping sponsors manage disclosure more efficiently in today's market and as new requirements emerge.”

Yesterday AI-based preventative health platform healthio named Brian Durst to its board of advisors. Durst comes to healthio from a business background, serving as CEO of Tribe 9 Foods and helping to commercialize QuadMed. 

“We hope to leverage Brian’s experiences from his entrepreneurial journey to shape healthio’s market traction as well as influence our capital raise strategies,” Sanjay Mohan, healthio cofounder and CEO, said in a statement.

Digital care coordination platform MyHealthDirect has named Dr. Jaewon Ryu as the newest member of its board of directors. Ryu is currently the executive vice president and chief medical officer for Geisinger Health. He also sits on the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission. 

"I am excited to become a part of MyHealthDirect's board, especially at a time when technology and processes are changing the nature of patient care," Ryu said in a statement. "MyHealthDirect's digital care coordination solutions are empowering millions of patients to receive the right care at the right time, while helping healthcare organizations improve business operations and patient satisfaction."
