We’re excited to share the topic and questions for this week’s #HITsm chat happening Friday, 9/6 at Noon ET (9 AM PT). This week’s chat will be hosted by Doug Zurawski from @kitcheck on the topic “How AI is Shaping Healthcare Operations”.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare has been a trending topic over the past several years and only continues to gain popularity as more organizations implement its capabilities within various tools and technologies. While there is some level of scrutiny on the impact it will have on providers’ careers and has been drumming up fear across the industry, AI remains an instrumental key to solving many issues surrounding healthcare today.
Doug Zurawski, SVP of Clinical Strategy and his team at Kit Check are focused on implementing AI within its Bluesight for Controlled Substances (BCS) platform in order to help hospitals and healthcare organizations identify drug diverters within the hospital setting. Drug diversion is a growing yet underreported issue stemming from the opioid epidemic and is putting hospitals, their staff, and patients at risk of adverse events. BCS’ AI technology is playing an instrumental role in preventing serious diversion events from occurring and improving overall hospital and pharmacy operations.
During this week’s #HITsm Twitter Chat, the community will dive into the burning questions from the industry about AI’s impact on various operations and sectors in healthcare – What’s working? What’s not? What are we afraid of? What are the latest tools being developed to encourage AI? Join the conversation this Friday, September 6 at 12:00 PM ET!
Topics for this week’s #HITsm Chat:
T1: I’ll start with an easy one. What are the best use cases of AI you’re seeing in healthcare? #HITsm
T2: With so many positive implications of AI, what do you think is holding the industry back from full adoption? #HITsm
T3: What does the industry need to do in order to make AI more widely accepted and adopted? #HITsm
T4: How has AI improved hospital operations? Or, for those outside the hospital setting, how has AI improved general healthcare operations? #HITsm
T5:@KitCheck has seen a massive improvement to its customers’ ability to identify anomalous behavior amongst hospital staff regarding the use of #controlledsubstances. Are there other instances where #AI tech could help fuel the recovery of the #opioid crisis? #HITsm
Bonus: Where do you see AI taking healthcare over the next five years? Will it continue to be more positive or, will there be a tipping point where we’ll have to scale back until we fully understand AI’s role in healthcare? #HITsm
