@If you’ve worked in health IT for any reasonable amount of time, you’ve no doubt heard of Marc Probst. Probst recently retired as CIO for Intermountain, has been on a number of health IT government committees and recently received the John E. Gall Jr. CIO of the Year award. As I’ve found with a number of CIOs, their idea of “retirement” is a little different than most and the same is true with Probst who was recently announced as the new CIO of ELLKAY.
Given the career change, I thought it would be a great opportunity to sit down with one of the great health IT leaders we have in the community to understand why he made the move. Plus, we also asked Probst what were some of the lessons learned from his time at Intermountain. We also ask Probst about what a CIO leader should be doing amidst the COVID-19 crisis and dive into some of the challenges he’s seen around connectivity in healthcare. For those looking to become a healthcare CIO, we also ask Probst for advice on what helped him have such a successful career.
