Health IT Trends Twitter Roundup

It’s been quite a while since we did a Twitter roundup on here so I though it was time to do another one.  In this roundup, we have a number of trends happening in healthcare and health IT that we wanted to highlight.  Plus, we have lots of questions about each.  So, share your thoughts and comments with us.

First up is a look at Direct Primary Care. Dutch Rojas is obviously a fan. I’m a fan too. Although, the million dollar question (or is it trillion dollar) is whether DPC can scale across the entire healthcare system. Or does DPC only work for the rich? What do you think?

Next up is a tweet about telehealth. I agree it’s not really debatable that telehealth is better for so many situations and patients. Why isn’t it getting the funding and legal changes it needs?

This next one has me really concerned. Nurses are burnt out and leaving. We had a nurse shortage before. Talking with my cousin that’s a nurse, she’s seeing it first hand. She’s waiting for the $20k signing bonus which she’ll probably get. There’s a real dissonance that they couldn’t pay them more, but now they can pay big bonuses to retain them or hire new ones. This will have long lasting impacts.

Thanks Lygeia from AdaRose for the inspiration that is Jimmy Choi.
