UK insurer Aviva has just announced a partnership with Now Healthcare Group to offer large corporate health insurance customers access to over 1,000 general practitioners. The pair will provide customers with a mobile app called Aviva Digital GP, which will let customers book video consultations with general practitioners, get remote diagnoses, and obtain advice on simpler medical queries.

The app will also allow customers to select a male or female doctor, chose from 12 languages, see the doctor’s credentials, and get medication delivered to their door.

Vibrent Health is partnering with Remote Assessment of Disease and Relapse-Central Nervous System. The pair plan on developing digital health programs that will use a predictive analytics tool to help improve treatment for depression, multiple sclerosis, and epilepsy. The deal could position Vibrent Health to move further into the European market.

“We are excited to be at the forefront of digital health research with RADAR-CNS as we endeavor to learn and understand more about health using smartphones and wearables to potentially transform how chronic disorders are treated,” Mark Begale, director of strategic partnerships for Vibrent Health, said in a statement. “The technology we are honing for these types of programs offers great promise in helping researchers, health care practitioners, and participants better understand and improve the delivery of care and improve the quality of life for patients.”

Digital health media company Outcome Health is joining forces with Unity Consortium, a group dedicated to getting preventative healthcare and vaccines for teens and young adults. As part of the partnership, the companies plan on creating a new digital content campaign specifically for vaccination education. Outcome Health will start by creating a series of infographics in English and Spanish that are targeted at helping teens and young adults understand their vaccination options. The partners plan on dispalying the graphics at provider offices.

“Vaccination is an essential part of keeping teens and young adults healthy and protected from serious diseases,” Nancy Phelan, senior vice president of Life Sciences at Outcome Health, said in a statement. “The best time for intervention is at the moment of care. In keeping with our mission, Outcome Health is partnering with Unity Consortium to drive positive patient outcomes and help improve the vaccination rates for teens and young adults.”

Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Massachusetts is teaming up with Voalte, a medical messaging company, to deploy a new caregiver communication system that will run on iPhone 7s. The new tool, called Voalte One, will be given to 2,000 clinicians and support staff across the hospital. The Voalte system lets users send text messages and group messages, make calls, search the hospital directory, and gives users a list of team members based on role, area, or name. Clinicians will also be able to send messages from their desktop platform Voalte Message. The hospital expects the system to eventually integrate with EHR Epic.

The way emergency situations are handled may be changing for some European cities. AI platform Corti has teamed up with the European Emergency Number Association to deploy the technology across four sites in Europe. Corti uses speech recognition technology that can act as a digital assistant for medical dispatchers. The technology helps them detect cardiac arrest by using deep neural network processes to identify verbal and non-verbal patters of communication. The system also gives the call taker recommendations for triaging the patient.

The four upcoming pilot sites haven’t been selected yet, but will be announced by June. The pilot will run from September 2018 to April 2019.

Cambio Healthcare System has inked a partnership agreement with Savience for its clinical management systems.

“Savience’s technology is a perfect fit,” Adrian Stevens, CEO of Cambio’s UK and Ireland business, said in a statement. "Augmenting our own electronic health record, clinical decision support, and patient flow systems, it gives our customers the ability to manage the core elements of a patient’s journey; arrival, seamless care, and departure."

The deal will give Cambio patients access to self-service and mobile platforms that let them check-in for hospital appointments. The self-service checkin is aimed at freeing up receptionists’ time and giving clinicians more control over their workload.
