It’s Friday and so we like to have a little more fun here at Healthcare IT Today. This week’s Fun Friday comes from the entertaining (and sometimes brutal) @EpicEMRParody account. If you’re not familiar with the Epic EMR Parody account, it’s an account that highlights many of the funny, ironic, challenging, frustrating, etc things about the Epic EHR. Sure, a few of the tweets might be exaggerated for humor, but man of them are so spot on they hurt a little.
Here were two of them that popped up recently that I found pretty funny.
Thanks for the kind words. https://t.co/vutFwl9cR1

It’s always fun when the account does a RT of someone else.
When you tell your patients face-to-face "I wouldn't worry about it, you'll be OK," you can use tone of voice & emotional cues to convey caring.
When you write those same words to an EPIC inbox question, they'll feel dismissed, that you are blowing them off.
Pretty cool, huh?

I’m a little surprised that the tweet didn’t acknowledge the new trend of recording the audio of your doctor visit. Then, you’ll have all the tone of voice and emotional cues you want (and some you don’t want), but that’s a topic for another day.
Have a great weekend!
