Healthcare.gov portal back online as OIG investigates data breach

A Healthcare.gov enrollment portal used by brokers and agents is back online a week after the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services noticed suspicious activity on the site last week.

The breach exposed information for a total of 75,000 individuals. It did not impact the website itself.

"Following last week’s breach in the Direct Enrollment (DE) pathway, CMS has worked around the clock to implement new security measures to protect consumer information," CMS spokesperson Johnathan Monroe said in a statement Friday morning. "As of this morning, the DE Agent/Broker pathway is now available."
